Roof-vented dryers in Campbell, and why they clog high

Lint does not fall out of a vertical duct. It rides up, stalls, and drifts back down when the drum stops. It lands on the first elbow above the machine. That elbow is usually inside a laundry closet wall. So the packed section sits where nobody can see it.

Things you can check yourself: a damp smell in the closet, a hood flap that no longer lifts, and lint dust on the roof shingles near the jack. Any of those means the duct is losing air before the exit. Crushed foil hose behind the machine is the cheapest thing to fix and the most common.
